Millbrook Storage Barn

On a working farm, you always need a place to park and store equipment. Building a barn with convenient storage on the upper level is a bonus. We designed the barn to have easy access to the upper level by building it into a hill. A truck can drive to the upper loading door and easily bring furniture and farm supplies up the ramp.

In addition to the upper door, we also designed a pulley system attached to the hay hood for hoisting items from the ground into the gable doors. In old barns, a similar device was used to load and unload hay.

I found Crisp Architects' website many years ago, forging our dream of hiring Jimmy Crisp to design our hypothetical addition to our small house built in 1785.
